    Many students at top law schools choose careers in public interest, clerkships, government. . . this is not a useful study to me.

    Many of the students at the very top law schools (e.g., Harvard) choose clerkships and consulting firms rather than Big Law. Flawed study. Sad. (Sorry about the last part. Trump grabbed my keyboard.)

    Indeed, I had no desire upon entering law school to practice in the firm setting at all. All these rankings and lists are designed to reinforce the idea that all law students should go into traditional practice and strive for big law. It‘s just not reality.

    All of this presupposes that the goal is to get a job with Big Law. That is NOT the goal of most law students, nor should it be!
