BAKER & MCKENZIE

Julie Petruzzelli, 55, has joined Baker & McKenzie's Washington office as a partner in the intellectual property practice group. She focuses her practice on litigating IP cases in the chemical, pharmaceutical, electrical, mechanical and medical-device industries. Previously, she was a partner at Venable. She earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.

BINGHAM MCCUTCHEN

Thomas Harman, 55, W. John McGuire, 54, and Christopher Menconi, 44, have joined Bingham McCutchen's Washington office as partners in the investment management practice group. The trio focus their practice on representing mutual funds, business development companies, closed-end funds, private investment companies and exchange-traded funds. They were formerly partners at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. Harman, McGuire and Menconi earned their J.D.s from the University of Virginia School of Law, Washburn University School of Law and Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, respectively.

COVINGTON & BURLING

Susan Cassidy, 48, has joined Covington & Burling as a partner in the government-contracts practice. She represents clients in regulatory and litigation matters related to government contracts. Previously, she was senior counsel for the information system sector of Northrop Grumman Corp. She earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law.

DEBEVOISE & PLIMPTON

Amanda Greenwold Wise, 41, has joined Debevoise & Plimpton's Wash­ington office as counsel to the insurance practice. She focuses on advising financial institution clients on regulatory matters. Previously, she was senior counsel at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. She earned her J.D. from Yale Law School.

DLA PIPER

Mark Paoletta, 49, and Thomas deButts, 52, have joined DLA Piper's Washington office as partners. Paoletta, a member of the regulatory and government affairs and federal law and policy practices, focuses on congressional investigations and hearings. Previously, he was a partner at Dickstein Shapiro. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. DeButts, a member of the regulatory and government affairs and international trade practices, focuses on international trade controls related to the Export Administration Regulations and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Previously, he was a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. He earned his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law.

MCDERMOTT WILL & EMERY

Alex Choinski, 39, has joined McDer­mott Will & Emery's Washington office as a partner in the energy advisory practice group. He focuses on the financing of complex infrastructure projects and assets acquisition in the areas of electric power, gas, oil, renewable energy, transportation and telecommunications. Previously, he was a senior associate at Baker Botts in Washington. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

WILEY REIN

Ralph Caccia, 50, has joined Wiley Rein as a partner in the white-collar defense practice. Caccia focuses his practice on white-collar matters, corporate internal investigations, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, health care fraud, criminal antitrust cases, defense of government enforcement actions and congressional investigations. Previously, he was chairman of the white-collar crime and government-investigations practice at Akerman Senterfitt. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
