    This story captures a good part of the law firm reality (or "new normal" if you like that term) in 2012. If your practice can't grow (in scarier terms--if it's contracting), your choice is: try holding on to your large firm trappings or becoming proactive in finding a firm that allows you more flexible rates. For those of you that haven't read "Who Took My Cheese", read it now before your firm invites you to leave because you're not meeting its desired metrics.
