Listen to the whining of the animal rights organizations that LOST a lengthy and contentious lawsuit! Boo hoo--NOT! How many millions do the animal rights organizations cost legitimate businesses each year with their frivolous and intimidating legal attacks? How many millions do the animal rights organizations cost the American taxpayer in defending lawsuits against the government (and in some cases recovering attorney fees from the government)? How many lost millions in tax revenue are lost because animal rights organizations are hiding behind 501c3 "non-profit" status? Finally, someone had the deep pockets to fight them! I think Feld ought to get more than what they are asking for. It is NOT acceptable to try to ruin someone‘s business because you don‘t agree with what they are doing--and to pay off the main witness is racketeering, so more is yet to come! This has nothing to do with animal welfare and everything to do with animal rights extremist organizations. It‘s okay for the AR organizations (e.g., H$U$) to have *stables* of attorneys paid for out of donations that are supposed to go to help animals, not further the sociopathic AR agenda. But it is not okay for a legitimate business that can afford to fight the AR extremist organizations to pay (out of their own pockets) the millions it has taken to successfully fight the AR gorilla organizations? Go, Feld! I hope the courts are sane pro-society rather than human-hating animal rights anti-society.

  • The lying little clowns known as animal rights activists should have kept to their low budget public education campaigns. But instead they knowingly brought a fraudulent lawsuit designed to destroy Feld‘s reputation and significantly erode its bottom-line. So why shouldn‘t these willful liars be forced to pay for their treachery, even if that means they disappear?

  • Good question, Tony Waters. I hope the court thoroughly audits those defense firms‘ fee requests, as surely that will expose serious padding of the "bills." I also hope the court examines whether the circus companies actually paid those purported "legal fees," as I doubt they coughed up $25 mil to those firms. As savvy corporations, they probably audited the bills thoroughly themselves, challenged partners and senior attorneys‘ puported time spent on work that junior attorneys could perform, etc.

If the plaintiffs‘ case was "frivolous, unreasonable and vexatious from inception," why did it take almost 50,000 lawyer-hours to defend against it?
